You are also in my thoughts. And, Kerri, I just want you to know that I already think of you as a good friend of mine. Thanks for coming into my life. They say that WHEN GOD WANTS TO BLESS US, HE PUTS A PERSON INTO OUR LIVES. God bless you!

RazorFamily Farms: Hi Kerri! I loved you comment about naming the chickens! I agreed with you but I did open it for the majority. Great minds think alike -- and you and I certainly were on the same wavelength! Great hearing from you and Happy Valentine's Day!
PAm: Kerri, the oral was here long before the written, and the written only collected and canonized (in the late 4th century) to combat Gnosticism. Don't pretend to know what I believe. Your ideas of the teachins of my faith are wooly at best.
Kerri: Yes, I see Pam where you have been in the archives commenting. Before you worry about any "word of God" that isn't written - I think you should worry more about believing what is written!
Pam: Kerri, I answered you in a couple of places on my blog. I wanted to post, too, that the "Word of God" isn't just the Bible.
Connie: Thank you for the congrats! Yes I have read all of Ron Pauls beliefs or I won't have poste4d about him. I agree with his thoughts on Israel.
Pam: Hi, Kerri! I haven't been online in a while (check my blog and you'll see why :D ) I'll be doing a post this weekend that might interest you. :D

Kerri: Do you realize that when Peter said that He was talking about the fact that even greater witness than their eyewitness of seing Jesus transfigured - we have a greater - the Bible, the Word of God.
Kerri: The Lord has given us His Written Word that we can KNOW who He is , who we are and HOW we can be saved and be with Him eternally. Peter said - 2Pe 1:19 "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"
Pam: Oh, and no, there is no rebuttal to the "thank God" post. I have gotten a few emails with the opinions of some readers and they are all virtually the same. My querry is whether or not this phrase holds Christian meaning in the eyes of the faithful, or if it's just "a saying" with no supernatural meaning whatsoever.
Pam: Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Word of God is written only, quite the contrary actually.
Kerri: The Bible is the WORD OF GOD that the Lord has given us in writing. Jesus is the Word of God in the flesh and He is the whole of His Word. I am resting, as I said, on the WORD OF GOD and His written promises!
Pam: Kerri the "Word of God" does not mean writings only. ;) I was wondering, though, how you define the use of the following two words when they are uttered together, uttered in sincerity, not in jest or sarcasm: "Thank God."
Kerri: Pam, I am resting on the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ given to us in writting in HIS WORD! The Roman Catholic church is resting on the shifting sands of man's opinions and will one day fall. My prayer for you is that you will realize it before it is too late.
Pam: Kerri, how sad that you set your soul on interpretations and beliefs that stem from the Post-Reformation period. May God be with you and remove your blinders. In the meantime, have a joyous Advent and Christ's Mass season.
ivy: Hi just surfing around, have a good night
Kerri: You can't change the fact that it was GOD who commanded -"Ge 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat." Jesus is not going to go opposite that and feed His disciple flesh and blood. It was and is symbolic. It is a picture of how we are saved - by taking Jesus by FAITH.

1 John 1

1Jo 1:1 ¶ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us; )
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 ¶ This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.(KJV)

For such a short chapter there is so much in these verses. Verse 7, of course is such a precious verse. Our salvation is through the blood of Jesus Christ - no other way. Only the blood cleanses us from our sin. It is a shame so many try to remove the blood from our faith - that blood is precious.

Then others don't realize the value of the blood. Too many try to wash away sin in the water of baptism. Some try to purify sin in the fires of purgatory. Water and fire won't cleanse us from sin - ONLY the BLOOD of JESUS will do that!

Then we look at verse 9. That is a precious promise. Once we are cleansed and saved by the blood of Jesus, we soon find we still have a sin nature that now wars with our new saved nature. We are still in this world and we get dirty. Once we are born into God's family He doesn't kick up out, but He will chastise His children, so the smartest thing for a child of God to do if he sins, is confess that sin to God, ask His forgiveness and let Him cleanse us from that sin, so He will not have to chastise us.  Confessing sin to a person will not help us - no one can cleanse us of sin except the Lord. If we sin against someone we need to apologize to that person and make restitution if needed, but our forgiveness and cleansing still comes from God, not man.
